Fundraiser Results in Service Dog for Lucas

Lucas Appleton is nine years old, and he has Fredreich’s Ataxia. He needs a service dog, but, his family couldn’t afford one. So, they held a fundraiser, which was extremely successful. There was enough money for Lucas to get his service dog, and also enough left over to start a trust fund for Lucas. Imagine what it would be like to be a nine year old boy who cannot go run and play with his friends. For Lucas Appleton, this is a reality. Illinois Attorney General Says Animals For Autism is a Scam

The Attorney General of Illinois, Lisa Madigan, has filed a lawsuit against a woman who was supposedly running a charity that matched service dogs with children who had autism. It wasn’t really a charity. Instead, it was a scam that cost some families thousands of dollars. Service dogs can be incredibly helpful. When you hear the phrase “service dog” you might think of a person who is blind, and who is using a guide dog to help him or her navigate safely across streets or through a city.
